After the last episode that featured mixes that Tom Moulton did for Scepter Records this episode goes the next step. The playlist consists of songs produced for the 12″ single, a format that Moulton founded and which also led to his creation of the “disco break” both whose concept became the standard not only for the dance music world but the music business in general. Also the format would be one that club DJs would play a big part in that they would produce mix, remix or re-edit 12″ dance singles particularly for the dancefloor. Many would go on to make names for themselves beyond the DJ booth such as Walter Gibbons and Larry Levan. Enjoy!
