FSQ’s Chuck Da Fonk explores the etymology of the idiom “You’re Telling Me” through it’s use in songs from Paul Whiteson’s 1932 jazz vocal number that carries the same phrase as its title, to Alan Price’s 1974 release of that name, to 2021’s epic rap “You Tellin Me” by Yung Skrrt.
This episode also includes all holy six artists including new 2021 releases from Yello and Duran Duran, and a previous unreleased FSQ recording session from Barbados. The FSQ New Music Ferry is holding international cargo, with recent French and Spanish language releases from Elisa Kwamé and Gabriel Rios, respectively. Plus more new music by the likes of A Man Called Adam, Charlie Soul Clap, Conclave, Toribo, Purple Disco Machine and Breakbot.
