Clyde McPhatter

Lover Please

Clyde recorded this uptempo, hand-clapping mover in 1962 on the Mercury label. Kind of reminds me of a train moving down the track! Born in Durham N.C., and perhaps is the most widely imitated R&B singer of the 1950s and 1960s, he was a key figure in the shaping of Doo-wop and R&B.
