Also known as Micheal Viner’s Incredible Bongo Band, was never an actual group, but rather was created to supplement the soundtrack to the B-film,
The Thing With Two Heads. Co-written by Art Laboe and Preston Epps and released by Epps as a Top 40 hit in 1959, it was covered by the Incredible Bongo Band on their 1973 release, becoming a minor US hit and substantial hit in Canada.
Viner recruited whichever studio musicians were on-hand, making use of MGM recording facilities in down-time, which also included many well-known blow-ins (all uncredited). The album artwork and publicity for the two albums, released on Pride Records Polydor/Polygram label, was all staged.
