The world lost a real Brazilian legend over the weekend. Sergio Mendes is the type of artist that gave birth to our show Worldy. From his many decades in the music business and defining genres that brought Brazilian music to the world – so many of his records are classics. Also his song Mas Que Nada (included in today’s show) was the soundtrack to one of the best soccer – Nike adverts ever.
This past weekend was Hopscotch, the great music festival that takes over downtown Raleigh, NC, so we will be playing some of those artists. Plus loads more music without borders.
