This week on Superfly Funk and Soul, things take a soulful detour as Matt steps in for the mighty Pete Brady – this show weaves together deep crate cuts, laid-back grooves, and psychedelic oddities and what Matt calls, ‘Oldies But Goodies.’
We open with Nova’s disco funk delight I Like It, The Way You Dance—a nod to the dancefloor—get dreamy with Nightmares On Wax & from there, The Montclairs, Lloyd Green’s steel-guitar take on I Can See Clearly Now delivers one of the show’s many curveballs.
The Supremes take us Over The Rainbow, a couple of Big Crown releases including psych-folk from Norah Jones – hammering hammonds, and loads more.
