This week on Worldy, we break borders and blur genres in all directions – from samba soul to synth melancholia, dub to doo-wop, funk to Madchester. It’s a sonic postcard from everywhere at once.
We open with Sola’s hypnotic “Tabu, Tabu,” followed by the fierce and frenetic “No Hay Masa Ya” from Mexican Institute of Sound, sounding the alarm with sample-heavy rebellion. Japan’s Kensuke Shiina delivers a dose of serene synthwork, Jacco Gardner adds psych shimmer, and Ladytron pulses in with post-electro defiance on “Cease2xist.”
Cheers Big Ears!
