This month’s Diggin’ 4 Gems installment includes a little bit of everything. Classic Punk and Post Punk tracks from bands hailing from England, Scotland and New York.
We turn the funk loose with a band who’s members grew up with Jimi Hendrix and their song was sampled in one of the biggest Hip Hop tracks of the 80’s. We ride the funk train from Chicago to Milan to London before playing some blues rock from two very different bands that share the word “Black” in their names. We check out a rare cover of a song penned by the leader of The Hooters by none other than Prince.
We will also check out some cool Canadian rock as well as some solo and side project music from artists that achieved early success as members of other bands. All that and more!
