After a seven-week hiatus, G Mateus returns to In the Pocket with a set that honors the legends we lost while he was away. A heartfelt trio of Eddie Palmieri classics (“Spirit of Love,” “Lucumí,” and “Vámonos Pa’l Monte”) pays tribute to his towering influence on Latin jazz and Afro-Cuban music.

The homage continues with Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath, revisited through Jazz Sabbath, Brownout, and Casualties of Jazz alongside Ozzy’s originals. The journey expands with fresh global sounds from Lack of Afro, João Selva, Mondo Freaks, MF Robots, Bryony Jarman-Pinto, Raz & Afla, Ilya Santana, and Captain Planet with Tony Allen.

Two hours of tributes, funk, house, jazz-funk, and worldwide rhythms – both a welcome-back and a celebration of lives in music.
