Funky Friday The 13th

It’s the second Friday of Funky February, landing on Friday the 13th, with Valentine’s Day tomorrow, a long Presidents’ Day weekend in New York State, and Carnival season right around the corner.

This week on IN THE POCKET, there’s no featured artist — instead, the focus is on Ohio funk, opening with an in-progress G Mateus rework of the Ohio Players and running through deep grooves from Dayton, Slave, Lakeside, Sun, and Heatwave, with a few complementary cuts woven in.

Warm, funky, and built for the long weekend — lock in and stay in the pocket.
