After a brief sabbatical, The Rendezvous returned with a two-hour broadcast dedicated to celebrating the music that defined 2025 for me.
This show was never intended as a definitive list or a neat summary. 2025 was too rich, too broad, and too generous for that. Instead, this broadcast captured a cross-section of records that stayed with me—albums, singles, collaborations, and moments that rewarded repeat listening and deeper attention.
Across soul, jazz, funk, hip-hop, Latin, electronic, and global sounds, the selections reflected a year where musical craft, emotional honesty, and cultural conversation felt unusually aligned. Some of these tracks arrived quietly and grew over time; others announced themselves immediately. All of them earned their place through feel, intention, and longevity rather than hype.
Inevitably, a two-hour window couldn’t hold everything worth sharing. Because of that, listeners are invited to dig further. Visit https://linktr.ee/kurtispowers, click “Say Hello” and I’ll send a follow-up folder with my full Top of ’25 selections, including tracks that didn’t make the broadcast—an invitation to keep digging beyond the show.
This was a thank-you to the artists, listeners, and community who continue to make The Rendezvous a place for shared listening and discovery—and a reminder that the best music years rarely fit neatly into lists or running times.
