This one drifts through Brazilian boogie and MPB, jazz-funk, Afrobeat, Nubian retro-pop, Arabic disco and Tokyo city pop — a loose thread running from Rio to Lagos to Tokyo to the mountains upstate.

Fresh cuts from Curió Curió, Clara Hill x Crackazat, Bruno Berle, Jeff Dynamite, Nao Yoshioka and The 7:45s sit alongside a long-buried 1972 session from Dollar Brand and Don Cherry, finally getting its first release outside Japan. Laid-back, wide-ranging, still deep in the pocket.
